State and City Campus Voting Challenges are nonpartisan recognition programs for higher education institutions in a particular state or city with a commitment to increasing student voter participation and engagement on campuses across the state or city. Departments of State, Secretaries of State, and nonprofit partners co-facilitate the voting challenges in collaboration with the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge.
Awards given through state challenges are based on campuses’ National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement (NSLVE) reports generated at Tufts University in Mass. Participation in the national ALL IN Challenge will automatically include participation in a state or city challenge. Institutions that opt into the state challenges will be provided guidance and tools to create a democratic engagement action plan for increasing student engagement on their campus.
