This free nonpartisan event will bring together New Jersey campuses to support nonpartisan voter engagement leading up to the November 2025 Election. All faculty, staff, and students connected to colleges and universities throughout New Jersey are encouraged to attend.

How can we all work to ensure that the campuses and communities we’re part of have reliable information about upcoming elections? How could we help address questions that people have about voting and what’s on the ballot? Join staff from the Journalism + Design Lab at The New School for a conversation about the roles we all play in ensuring that more people on campus have the information they need to vote and stay engaged in the decisions that impact them. We’ll also share some models and resources that have worked for campus partners in our network – and that you can adapt for your campus and communities, too.

All attendees will be invited to participate in reflection sessions about their hopes for the 2025 elections, their experiences at the convening, and lessons learned related to their nonpartisan efforts.
Summit Speakers

Saira Blair
Saira Blair was elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates in 2014 at the age of 18—becoming the youngest state legislator in U.S. history. A Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree in Law & Policy, she served two terms while simultaneously attending West Virginia University. Today, Saira is the Partnerships Manager at American Promise, where she works to advance a 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution restoring power to Congress and the states to set reasonable limits on money in politics, just as she believes our founding fathers intended.

Eash Haughton
Eash Haughton is a public affairs strategist and Director of Public Affairs at Capital Impact Group, where he leads legislative and regulatory strategy for clients across New Jersey. A former aide to Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson and member of Governor Phil Murphy’s policy team, Eash has built a career advancing equity-driven policy at the intersection of government, advocacy, and community. An EOF alum and proud graduate of The College of New Jersey and Rutgers University, Eash is committed to expanding opportunity for historically excluded communities. He serves on the Mercer County Community College Board of Trustees, is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and holds leadership roles within the New Jersey Democratic State Committee. In 2024, he was named to Insider NJ’s Top 100 Lobbyist List and Rising Generations List.

Jennifer Keys-Maloney
Jennifer Keyes-Maloney currently serves as Executive Director for the New Jersey Association of State Colleges & Universities. She has garnered substantial higher education experience after serving as Associate Vice President for Government & Community Relations at The College of New Jersey. Prior to that Jennifer served as Assistant Treasurer for the State of New Jersey where she oversaw matters related to Treasury’s divisions of Taxation, Revenue and Enterprise Services, Risk Management, and Unclaimed Property. Before serving as Assistant Treasurer she worked as Assistant Director for Governmental Relations for the New Jersey Principal and Supervisors Association working on education and labor issues and providing direct support to school principals around the State. She is additionally serving her third term as a Councilperson for the Township of Ewing.

Mayor Jeff Martin
Jeff Martin is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served in the Judge Advocate General's Corps. Mayor Martin received his Bachelor of Arts from the College of New Jersey, his Juris Doctor from Rutgers University, and a Masters of Law from the University of Connecticut. He was elected to the Hamilton Township Council in 2017, serving as Council President in 2019. He was elected Mayor of Hamilton Township in 2019, becoming the youngest person ever elected to the position. He is currently serving his second term as Mayor. Mayor Martin resides in Hamilton with his wife, Scarlett, and daughter, Olivia.

Rob Matos Moran
Robert “Rob” Matos-Moran is the Director of Legislative Affairs for New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. Rob joined Governor Murphy’s Administration in 2021 where he previously served as a Senior Outreach Aide and a Senior Legislative Aide covering education, transportation, and human services among other issue areas such as the Governor’s Liaison to the NJ Legislative Latino Caucus. Rob previously worked in the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives where he first began his career as an intern and staff member for Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman. He was a New Jersey Governor’s Hispanic Fellow, New Leaders Council Fellow, and EOF student. Rob is an alumnus of The College of New Jersey and participated in the Bonner Scholars program which helped cultivate his passion for social justice. As a first generation American, Rob believes in service through consensus-building, uplifting voices, and facilitating community-based solutions. The son of Peruvian and Portuguese immigrants, he loves to immerse in his cultures through food, art, and music. In his free time, Rob enjoys experiencing NJ’s cultural diversity, playing tennis, and cheering on his favorite soccer team, Everton FC.

Kari Osmond
Kari Osmond was recently appointed as the Associate Vice President of Government Affairs and Community Relations for The College of New Jersey. Prior to this role, she served as the Chief of Staff to Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman of New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District of the U.S. House of Representatives. Kari worked with Representative Watson Coleman for over ten years, setting up her flagship office in her inaugural term. Before her work in Congress, Kari worked as the Chief of Staff to Assemblyman Reed Gusciora of New Jersey's 15th Legislative District of the New Jersey General Assembly. In this role, she helped craft the Marriage Equality legislation with Gusciora, the state’s first openly gay legislator. Kari graduated from The College of New Jersey with a degree in Women and Gender Studies and concentration in Public Policy. A resident and former First Lady of Lambertville, Kari lives with her wife Julia and their half blind cat Randall.

Cat Tung
Catherine is an experienced government affairs professional with deep knowledge of the New Jersey political and legislative landscape. She advocates for clients across a variety of industries, providing them with strategic advice and insight, and helping them navigate the complex processes and regulations of government. Catherine is well-known and highly respected in Trenton. Before joining McCarter, she served as the associate executive director of the New Jersey Assembly Office. In this role, she acted as a trusted advisor to the Speaker of the General Assembly and members of the assembly’s Democratic leadership. She worked closely with elected officials and stakeholders on both sides of the aisle to develop public policy in a variety of areas, including sports betting, tax incentive programs, liquor license reform, and water infrastructure. Catherine began her career as an education and government affairs coordinator for the New Jersey Apartment Association, where she was responsible for advocacy efforts on behalf of developers, managers, and owners.
